A sitemap.xml lists your site’s URLs, helping search engines and AI crawlers discover and index all of your pages.

Why have a sitemap

  • Helps search engines and AI crawlers find all of your pages.
  • Speeds up discovery and indexing of new content.
  • Improves your site’s coverage in AI-assisted answers and results.

Create your sitemap

Unlike the AI-generated files, the sitemap is built by discovering your site’s URLs.
1

Discover URLs

Open Actions → sitemap and click Discover URLs. Cliro crawls your homepage and extracts internal links to seed an editable URL list.
2

Edit the list

Review the discovered URLs, removing or adding pages as needed.
3

Confirm

Confirm to lock the sitemap and enable downloading.
4

Download & publish

Upload the file to your site’s root so it’s reachable at https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml.
5

Verify publication

Use Verify publication to confirm the live sitemap is in place.
Reference your sitemap from your robots.txt so crawlers find it automatically.

Confirm in the Site Check

The Site Check confirms your sitemap is served correctly.
